Why Jackson drivers choose us

The part nobody warns you about is the paperwork

Repairing the car is our job. Getting it approved, tracked, and back in your driveway without a dozen phone calls is also our job.

We handle the claim

You call us, we call the adjuster. Estimates, supplements, and approvals go through our office instead of your inbox.

You pick the shop

Your insurer can recommend a repair facility. It cannot require one. The choice belongs to you.

Backed by Jim Winter Automotive Group

A body shop with a dealership behind it

Our collision center sits on the Jim Winter Automotive Group campus on W. Michigan Ave. That means factory parts access, manufacturer repair procedures, and a full service department a few hundred feet away when a collision turns up something mechanical.

It also means you are not chasing two businesses to get one car fixed.

The repair process

How long it actually takes

Seven stages, with the day counts most shops will not put in writing.

  1. Estimate Day 1

Walk in or send photos. We write the damage and send the estimate to your insurer the same day where possible.

  2. Insurance approval 1–3 days

Your insurer reviews the estimate. We handle the back-and-forth so you are not relaying messages between two offices.

  3. Parts ordering 1–5 days

Parts availability drives most of the variation in repair time. We tell you up front if something is on back order.

  4. Body & structural repair 1–5 days

Panels repaired or replaced, structure measured and pulled back to factory tolerance. Hidden damage found here becomes a supplement.

  5. Refinishing 1–3 days

Color mixed to your factory code, applied in the booth, cured, and polished to match the surrounding panels.

  6. Reassembly & calibration 1–2 days

Trim and hardware reinstalled, plus any ADAS recalibration your vehicle requires after the repair.

  7. Quality check & delivery Final day

Road test, final inspection, wash, and pickup. We walk the repair with you before you take the keys.

Most repairs land between 3 and 10 days start to finish. Structural work or a back-ordered part can push it to 2 or 3 weeks, and we tell you as soon as we know.

Insurance claims

We work with every insurance company

Do I have to use the body shop my insurance company recommends?

No. You choose the shop that repairs your vehicle. Your insurance company may recommend a facility from its network, but it cannot require you to use one. Tell your adjuster you are taking the vehicle to Jim Winter Auto Body in Jackson and we will take it from there.

Who pays for the repair?

In most claims your insurer pays us directly and you are responsible only for your deductible. We confirm the arrangement with your adjuster before work begins so there are no surprises at pickup.

What is a supplement?

Damage behind a bumper cover or fender is not visible until the vehicle is disassembled. When teardown reveals more, we document it and submit a supplement to your insurer for approval before that work is done.

Should I file a claim or pay out of pocket?

If the repair cost is close to your deductible, paying out of pocket is often the better choice. We give you a written estimate either way so you can decide with a real number in hand.

Do you provide a rental car?

We coordinate rental arrangements with your insurer and can help set it up when your policy includes rental coverage.
